What do you like best about Amazon CodeWhisperer?
ive been using codewhisperer now amazon Q, in windows and Mac for quite a while now mainly for assisting with command line completions in all my termials and IDEs ( in case of windows as no commandline support its only for macOS) . it has history retention and can also share the learning accross devices from what i experianced.
Integration with other IDEs is also great , ive integrated with VScode and some of the jetbrains IDE as i wanted to try something other than github copilot and works just perfect.
Ive mainly been using it when i work in python or typescript and the suggestions are very precise unlike other AI coding assistants.
Its just perfect for genrating inline documentation for your codebase ive been using it almost everyday.
the setup is very simple and there is almost no learning curve. just keep in mind not to rely on it all the time as it still gives buggy codes.
What do you dislike about Amazon CodeWhisperer?
as its still in free trail im not so sure about the pricing but it may be a concern.
and i really hope AWS releases codewhisperer for command line on windows soon.
What problems is Amazon CodeWhisperer solving and how is that benefiting you?
it optimised productivity a lot. no almost no need to write documentation , ive been relying on codewhisperer for genrating documention for my APIs , routing , react codebase and python scripts.
also it is very usefull when creating dummy data or something like that which wouldnt require supervision. code completion is a benifit but still not relying on that as much.
Interested to try out Amazon CodeWhisperer to enhance my coding skills and to improve my efficiency.
